MHFA Conversations About Suicide

Do you know how to help someone that is feeling suicidal? Learn practical skills to improve your confidence in this half-day course.

The 4-hour Mental Health First Aid Conversations about Suicide course is for any interested adult.

You will learn the skills and acquire the knowledge required to safely have a conversation with a person who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

At the completion of the course you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to safely have a conversation with a suicidal person. This is not a postvention course and is not recommended for individuals recently bereaved by suicide.

The MHFA Conversations about Suicide course is not a therapy or a support group and it is important that people undertaking the course are feeling relatively robust when they undertake it. Specific postvention support services can be found at the beyondblue website.
