Teacher Professional Development

Diploma of Work Health and Safety BSB51319 may contribute 50 hours of NESA Elective PD  for NSW Teachers towards maintaining Teacher Accreditation.

​Eligibility:

  • 15 years old or over

  • no longer at school

  • living or working in NSW

  • an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen

Prerequisites

You must hold the five core units of BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSBWHS412, BSBWHS413, BSBWHS414, BSBWHS415 and BSBWHS416). Please enquire for full details.

To gain the Qualification – 10 Units must be completed, consisting of 5 core and 5 elective units, plus the additional core units from BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies if not previously held.

BSBWHS515 Lead initial response to and investigate WHS incidents

BSBWHS516 Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining an organisation’s WHS management system

BSBWHS519 Lead the development and use of WHS risk management tools

BSBWHS522 Manage WHS consultation and participation processes

BSBWHS517 Contribute to managing a WHS information system

BSBWHS518 Manage WHS hazards associated with maintenance and use of plant
